Session I: Reimagining Women’s Health: The Power of Hormones

Women today lack access to providers who are clinically and culturally competent in hormonal and sexual health beyond reproductive care. This cultural and educational gap leads to misinformation and significant delays in diagnosing conditions that disproportionately affect women, such as heart attacks, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, endometriosis, menopause, musculoskeletal and mental health issues. Additionally, women’s health concerns remain underserved by the research community resulting in a lack appropriate treatments and therapies for these conditions that require new solutions specifically for women.

Consequently, many women turn to out-of-pocket cash clinics, telemedicine providers, and online products of questionable efficacy, further increasing their healthcare costs, and limiting access for those with lower socio-economic status. Women spend approximately $14 billion more on out-of-pocket healthcare costs annually compared to men. While women generally live longer than men, they spend more of their lives in poor health.

Setting the Stage for Transformative Change in Women’s Health

Keynote Speaker: Lori Frank, PhD., President, WHAM

Kick off the summit with a powerful keynote by Dr. Lori Frank, President of Women's Health Access Matters (WHAM), as she unveils the findings from a landmark report commissioned by WHAM and conducted by the RAND Corporation. This comprehensive report provides critical insights into the state of women's health research, revealing key gaps, challenges, and opportunities across various conditions and life stages.

Dr. Frank's presentation will lay the foundation for the summit, offering a compelling overview of the economic and societal benefits of investing in women's health. Her keynote will set the stage for deeper conversations throughout the event, guiding discussions on how female healthcare leaders can harness these findings to drive innovation, policy change, and equitable access to care.

Session II: AI in Healthcare: Myths, Realities, and Future Horizons

This session is designed to explore the transformative power of AI in healthcare, starting with its current applications—like predictive analytics in hospitals, personalized care in insurance, smart medical devices, and accelerated drug discovery—that are already reshaping the industry. From there, we’ll venture into future possibilities, envisioning a world where AI-driven precision medicine, autonomous diagnostics, and integrated healthcare ecosystems revolutionize how care is delivered and experienced.

We'll also delve into the barriers and risks we must navigate to realize AI’s full potential, including regulatory challenges, ethical considerations, technical integration, and financial constraints. Through this discussion, we aim to spark new ideas and collaborations that will harness AI to tackle some of healthcare’s most complex problems, ultimately creating a more innovative, efficient, and accessible future.

Setting the Stage – AI Unplugged:  Fact, Fiction, or Future
